April 2010 - Refrigeration solutions for Carlsberg
Appointed by Carlsberg to implement solutions to reduce brewery refrigeration energy costs, saving £200k a year, including operator training, control changes and real time performance evaluation systems.

April 2010 - Energy management support for pubs/restaurant chain
EIS continue to support a major UK pub/restaurant chain to achieve energy cost reductions, through energy management, investments and efficient design.

April 2010 - Energy efficiency in asphalt manufacture
A study of energy efficiency opportunities in asphalt, for Quarry Products Association Northern Ireland, has identified cost effective opportunities for process change, new products, advanced control, heat recovery, moisture removal and more.

April 2010 - Carbon Trust Standard and Support for CRC
EIS has successfully supported a pub/restaurant chain to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and prepare for the CRC regulations. The CT standard will help achieve a high league table position in the CRC and follows the implementation of a successful energy and carbon management programme.

April 2010 - Collaboration with Endress and Hauser
EIS and Endress and Hauser are working together to deliver advanced industrial energy management information solutions to control energy and carbon emissions in complex, energy intensive processes.

March 2010 - Compressed air cost savings identified
A study of compressed air has been completed for Coty and cost effective opportunities to reduce costs have been found, including demand reduction, pressure reduction, improved control, variable speed drives and heat recovery.

March 2010 - Heat pumps and renewable energy
A study of the opportunities for heat recovery at Agfa has found cost effective projects, including the use of heat pumps incentivesed by the proposed 'Renewable Heat Incentives'.

March 2010 - CHP feasibility study for food producer
EIS has identified solutions to reduce energy costs at a major food producer, including gas fired combined heat and power saving £0.5 million/year with a 2.5 year payback.

February 2010 - Energy audit of 50MW CHP facility
An audit of a large CHP facility has revealed significant opportunities to reduce energy costs, including plant optimisation and improved control. Other solutions include variable speed pumps for feed and cooling water.

January 2010 - Data mining for BP
EIS has provided support to BP using data mining to analyse oil field performance, and to better understand well interactions to increase oil production.

January 2010 - Collaboration with IM Group
Collaboration with 'Microsoft Business Intelligence Partner of the Year', IMGroup, to develop scalable data mining and performance reporting solutions.

September 2009 - Implement energy reduction projects
A new initiative to reduce energy costs and associated carbon dioxide emissions in a major UK pub chain is being supported by Energy Intelligent Solutions. We are providing advice on the technical opportunities and developing business cases. Pilot projects are being implemented. The work also includes preparing the company for the upcoming Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) including achievement of the Carbon Trust standard.

January 2009 - Appointed to study energy use in animal feed milling
EIS are working with partners to identify opportunities to improve the performance of pressing and pelleting processes for the production of animal feed. This work is funded by the Carbon Trust Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator programme.

October 2008 - Data mining project for US petrochemicals company
A data mining study has been undertaken for a major US Petrochemicals company in Houston. This has involved 4 months of analysis to improve understanding of the causes of variable energy performance on two the larger process plants at the site. The work has identified new operating rules and controls strategies with energy cost reductions equivalent to $2.5 million a year.

September 2008 - Data mining project results publicised by Microsoft
Microsoft and Cleveland Potash have released details of an energy management initiative at the Boulby Potash Mine. Energy Intelligent Solutions have developed an energy management information solution using MS Business Intelligence Tools including SQL Server, Analysis Services and Sharepoint.

September 2008 - Biomass CHP developed save £20m/year
A cost effective biomass CHP solution has been developed at a petrochemicals facility to the point where an investment decision can be made. The proposed new plant will generate steam and power for the process energy demands from biomass with significant reductions in fuel costs, increased security of supply and lower carbon emissions.

September 2008 - Provide energy efficiency support to UK food retailer
This project has involved ongoing assessment of a major energy efficiency initiative and the identification and assessment of energy saving solutions. The work has focused on the main energy users in superstores, including refrigeration, HVAC and lighting.

September 2008 - Data Centre Energy Solution Developed
EIS have developed solutions to reduce energy use in a large data centre in SE England by 30% with a payback period of less than two years. The projects include quick hits and longer term measures, and will help the customer to meet regulatory requirements.

June 2008 - Presented paper on data mining at IChemE seminar
David Hart has presented a paper on energy efficiency in the process sector to the IChemE in London (June 26th 2008). The conference 'Reducing our carbon footprint - what is Process Control doing about it?' explored the use of advanced computing and control solutions to reduce energy and carbon emissions.

June 2008 - Presentation on energy efficiency in data centres
David Hart has presented a paper on energy use in Data Centres to an audience of data centre managers and engineers at St Pauls Cathedral London. (June 2008)

June 2008 - Technical experts to Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme
Energy Intelligent Solutions are appointed as technical experts to the UK Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme with specific responsibilities in refrigeration and energy monitoring/management.
