Biomass CHP solution for UK petrochemical company

EIS have developed a cost effective solution which will reduce energy costs by    £12 million a year and provide more secure utilities supplies to the site. This is achieved by a combination of:

   biomass combined heat and power
   conventional CHP
   a new fuels strategy
   energy management.
 
 

The work involved modelling of the site utilities demands, identifying and modelling potential opportunities, sourcing biomass and process analysis.

The project required a deep understanding of EU and UK energy and carbon policies and the regulations and incentives associated with industrial CO2 emissions and renewable energy. The work involved close co-operation with Government agencies.
