Data mining at UK mining company

EIS have been working with Cleveland Potash for over 15 years in the management of energy use and carbon emissions. Recently, work has been completed to develop energy management information systems to improve the control of energy use in the complex and energy intensive mining and refining operations.

The solutions are based on Microsoft Business Intelligence tools which are being applied to provide information on process energy use in a more timely and usable manner to site management, and to explain the variations on energy demands. The project is being promoted by Microsoft as an exemplar of the use of their solutions in Industry.
